1980 Ford Escort 1.6 GL Auto. Good solid car imported from SA in 2021 we think. Its fully UK registered and we have the V5 here, along with the cars original bookpack and service book. It starts runs and drives and has been regularly used. good solid car with loads of potential.

Body - 4 door Auto shell with the big tunnel. Original and good inner wings, strut tops, sills, arches, doorposts, boot floor. Only seems to have had repairs in boot wells and they are now solid. Paintwork is pretty tidy and no signs of any rust. Panel gaps are decent. Mexico style front spoiler fitted. Good bumpers and trim. Still has its original ford marked headlights. Tidy old car which looks well.

Mechanics - 1600 crossflow engine which starts no problem and is quiet. Auto gearbox works as it should. Brakes are a good pedal but do require a good push to stop so not sure if servos quite as good as it should be. Car drives ok and feels quite tight. Think one front wheel might need balanced or swapped to the rear.

Interior - All looks standard and fairly tidy. No major rips or tears. Good headlining and carpets. Speakers fitted in door cards.

Wheels - polished 4 spoke alloys, 2 are Rs 2 are Laser but look decent. 185/60/13 tyres which look quite old but 4 sparer used ones come with the tyre

Ideal car for a 5 speed conversion as it has the big tunnel. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
