Ford Sierra Cosworth. We are told this car is an ex Ford Press Car which was used by none other than legendary Touring Car Driver Steve Soper who successfully piloted the Texaco Eggenberger Sierra RS500s in both the UK and Europe. The car was originally registered as C219 XLK. We have all the copies of previous owners V5s including the first one showing Steve Soper as the owner. . Its had a couple of private plates in its time as well which were JCZ5 and GIB665. Its now registered as C803 SRB. I think given its history it would be better back on its original plate, which as its all documented should be possible if the new owner wants to tackle the DVLA.
The car was restored in around 2015 and has only done a few thousand miles since. With the car is the current V5, copies of all old V5s as supplied by the DVLA, receipts for everything spent and photos of the car during the restoration when it was taken down to the metal. There is also a handbook and old service book with it.
Body - 3 door Sierra Cosworth. The car is solid underneath and is all body colour when it was restored in 2015. Floors are all good as are the arches sills, inner wings, doors, boot and bonnet. Its had work over the years, as they all have but the floors look really good with no patches or unsightly repairs. Looks to have had a repair around the spare wheel well area at some point in its life. Gap on tailgate is not perfect. Paintwork is pretty tidy. The old car looks good for its years . Its not a concours car but perfectly tidy useable example. There are a few age related marks on the paint but nothing major.
Mechanics - Car has been stored since prior to Covid and unused. We have had the fuel system drained and cleaned, and the injectors cleaned and tested. The car starts runs and drives very well and feels very tight. The engine is good and not smoky. Gearbox , clutch and brakes are all good. Car is polybushed underneath and looks to have had fortunes spent at the time of restoration as everything was either , new, refurbished repainted etc. We will happily put a years MOT on it for the new owner.
Interior - All standard and in good order. Dash is really good and original, seats are good and not saggy. Headlining is good as are the door cards and carpet.
Wheels - Standard 3 door wheels in very good order with good tyres.
This is a tidy old car with interesting history. Given that these cars seem to be constantly increasing in value this is a good investment. A superb low mileage one sold last week at Silverstone Auctions for £130K. You can always improve on the condition of a car but you cant rewrite the history.
Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
