Here we have an abomination of a Mk1 Escort Van in need of a full restoration. This one is definitely in the "what the **** was i thinking" category. I cannot be held fully responsible for this purchase. I blame Mr Magners, Mr Smirnoff and my good lady wife for not taking my phone of me......that being said its very solid underneath and definitely saveable. Its just everything above the sill line is quiet hideous....oh and its been fitted with a Datsun engine, which looks similar to a crossflow, after several beverages and looking at your phone with one eye. We have done all the usual NOVA nonsense and the UK V5 has been applied for. If your nutty enough to buy this then it will be UK registered. I will even buy you a set of number plates which will significantly increase the value of this old swamp donkey.

Body - Early Mk1 Escort Van. Floors are all original and good and dry. Will need a couple of small repairs on front floor pans, but the rest is good and original. It has extra strengthening on the rear chassis similar to type 49 shells.....now this is where it starts to go wrong. Inner wings are good but very creative repair on heater bubble which will need attention. Looks to have had damage on the roof at one point at the front as roof crossmembers look to have been straightened and roof on passenger side has definitely had a repair. Looks to have had a lower rear panel on top of the old panel.... and there will be more delights. Paintwork is nasty,

Mechanics - Fitted with 1400 Datsun engine and box, which actually runs fine and looks to have been installed half decent. Certainly wasnt same guy that did the heater bubble or interior!!! we have no drove it for fear of catching tuberculosis or something similar from the seats. Does have an English axle on it rather than the Borg Warner seen on most SA saloons. Will need going through from front to back mechanically.

Interior - Put on a Forensic suit and throw it all in the bin. We have already removed half a ton of crap, horrible mats a fan nailed to the dash, old cup stuck on as an ashtray, etc.

Wheels - Set of rostyles i found lying about with hard tyres.
