Ford Escort 1600 Sport. This is a RHD Import from South Africa. All tax and duty has been paid and NOVA registration done. We will complete all the paperwork to register in your name as the new owner. This is a very original old car which doesnt look like its ever had any welding done. Getting really hard to find original cars like this now. 

 

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell which has similar strengthening on the front end to our RS models. Shell is in excellent condition for its age with no signs of any welding having been done or needed. Panel gaps are good. Paintwork is nice and tidy. Perfectly useable and very original looking. Few minor age related marks on paint but nothing more than youd expect from a car this age. Few "jacking up" dents on chassis rails but overall super solid and original.

 

Mechanics - Very quiet 1600 crossflow which starts first turn. No smoke or nasty noises. All original 4 speed box which is perfect. Good clutch and brakes. Carb may need a slight adjustment for the different climate but seems to run fine.

 

Interior - Original brown sport interior which is in very good order. No rips or tears, good original door cards with no speaker holes. Good carpet, dashtop and headlining.

 

Wheels - Original deep dish South African steels with good 175 70 13 tyres.

 

this is a very original old car which hasnt been messed with. Its hard to find ones like this now as im looking every day. Please feel free to come and see the car.
