1968 Ford Escort MK1 - 2 door. This car was imported from South Africa approx 3 years and is fully UK registered. Its extremely solid underneath and original. Its original inner wings, sills, floor pans, door pillars etc. It starts runs and drives and has been used regularly but could really do with a paintjob to take it to the next level.

Body - Early strengthened Mk1 Escort shell. It has all the strengthening plates similar to our rs or mexico models but no studs through the boot floor. This is also an early compression strut model and doesnt have an anti roll bar. The bubble arches were added by the first UK owner and the trim it had along the side was removed. The trims holes have been welded up and the blending of the arches needs finished off. Basically if you had a bodyshop this would be a good project for you. It has quarte bumpers , twin cam style side lights and indicators.

Mechanics - Extremely sweet 1600 crossflow with aftermarket rocker cover, weber twin choke carb. Good brakes with vented discs. Clutch and gearbox are fine. This car actually drives pretty well and doesnt need a lot , if anything doing mechanically.Alloy tank in boot with filler neck, original tank still in place and can be reused if required

Interior - Bucket seats, harnesses, half cage, six dial dash, only speedo works , everything else is done through auxiliary gauges.

Wheels - 13 inch Superlite style wheels with good tyres.

If you have the ability to get this painted at a sensible cost then it could be a cheap car as its rock solid underneath and not patched or caked in undersmeg....
