1984 Ford Escort 1600 Bantam Pickup. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration has been done. We will complete all the UK registration paperwork for the new owner, but it will need MOTd first.  Starts runs and drives and is extremely solid. There is room for improvement as it was a working vehicle in SA

 

Body - Genuine Ford built Escort Bantam pickup. This one is very solid and original. Original floors, sills, arches, battery tray, crossmember, wings,  load bed. For its age the shell is superb. It has a couple of pinsized holes in bottom of osr lower quarter at the back and the passenger door has a bit bubbling and swollen in the bottom corner. Overall for its age its extremely good structurally and the best one we have seen for a while. Paintwork could be used as it is. Sides are ok but bonnet looks to have been repainted and its not the best to be honest.

 

Mechanics - 1600 CVH carburettor engine. Starts runs and drives  Good brakes, clutch, 4 Speed gearbox. This was being used in South Africa prior to export but will need a good checkover mechanically as the MOT process is not as strict as ours. Bear in mind this car is nearly 40 years old.

 

Interior - Original bench seat which has splits on the drivers side and will need repaired. It has the soft dash like a UK XR3  which has a few cracks in it. Door cards and headlining are good.. 

 

Wheels - Original steels with average tyres. Two of the centre caps are missing

 

These little trucks are very rare as they were only built for the South African market. Its very difficult to find any half decent ones. Please feel free to come and see the truck. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required please ask for a quote.
