1980 Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. This car starts runs and drives and is a fairly good looking car. Its been fitted with a 1300 engine for some reason but we have a 1600 available that can go with it. We will complete all the paperwork for you to UK register it.

 

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Good original inner wings, strut tops, Underbonnet area is generally good  Strut tops have been sanded back to check numbers prior to export. Good sills, arches, doorposts.  Both boot wells and front floors have previously been repaired. They are all solid but just done with flat plate rather than proper contoiured panels. Centre rails have also had some repairs in the past. They look solid but I see a lot of these that are heavily dented so Im assuming thats why they have been done.  Paintwork is pretty tidy. Car looks good and is nice and straight. Panel gaps are OK. 

 

Mechanics - 1300 crossflow fitted for some reason with brand new carb on it. Car starts runs and drives but as with any old car it will need a good checkover before using in anger. The brakes and clutch feel Ok but we have only driven it around our industrial estate. We have two 1600 engines here so if someone wants one they can have it with the car.

 

Interior - Original sport seats which have been retrimmed and are perfectly useable but not the original material.. Door cards are good with no speaker holes. .Headlining is original and good. Aftermarket steering wheel. 

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish wheels with good tyres
