1981 Ford Escort 1600 Sport. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Nova declaration has been done and we will complete all the registration paperwork in your name.Very original old car which will need a bit minor TLC. Very hard now to find unmolested cars like this.

 

Body - Heavy duty export spec shell with similar strengthening on the front end to our RS models. Good inner wings, strut tops and wing rails. Original floors, sills, arches, boot wells.  Heater bubble looks like its had a previous minor repair. Nearside corner of slam panel where it meets inner wing is rusty. Had a previous small repair on drivers door post. A lot of the paintwork looks original. Driver side wing and bootlid have definitely been repainted. 

Two small holes on outer edge of drivers front floor pan. Paintwork is perferctly useable but showing signs of age. If you want a fairly original old car then it can be used as it is. If you want a show car then it would need painted. Back bumper has a bit of a bend in it.

 

Interior - Original interior - Good original seats. Door cards are original but have speakers fitted. Dash top has a couple of minor cracks. Good headlining. Carpet a bit worn on drivers side.;

 

Mechanics - All original . Good 1600 crossflow which starts no problem with no smoke or nasty noises. Original 4 speed box and running gear. Good brakes and clutch. Carb will need a bit fettling due to the different climate here.

 

Wheels - Original sport steels with 175 /70/13 tyres

 

This is quite an original old car and in the main has not been "got at". Please feel free to come and see the car. we have a ramp so you can look underneath.
