1980 Ford Escort 1600 Sport. This is a RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. We have the NOVA confirmation and the UK registration has been applied for. The car does start and run but will need a bit work to get it up to scratch.

Body - Export spec sport shell with similar strengthening to our RS models at the front. Original inner wings, strut tops, good chassis rails, Has had repair in both boot wells and front floors. Evidence of filler on lower quarters where boot wells have been replaced. These are solid enough but are closer to MOT style repairs rather than restoration quality. Has had a new wing on passenger side. Not the best quality panel as the bit at the front round the grill looks a bit of a strange shape and not quite right. Perfectly useable but just pointing it out. If you wanted a really good car these would all need redone. Paintwork is OK but there is a few marks here and there. There are a couple of cracks in the paint on the roof. God quarter bumpers, front spoiler, spotlights.

Mechanics - Original engine and 4 speed box. All standard running gear. Car starts and runs but starter motor sounds a bit tired and will need replaced. Carb will need tuned due to the different climate. Engine will need serviced and car will need a good checkover from front to back.

Interior - Original seats which need a small repair on the side vinyl sections at the top. Back seat is original and good. Headlining is ok and original. Door cards are good but screwed on rather than fixed with the proper clips. Dash top has been recovered poorly.

Wheels - Original sport steels with 175 70 13 tyres.

Not the worst looking car but a bit of a project to get it on the road. You will probably have to go backwards before you go forwards on this one but it could be turned into a nice example.
