Genuine South African built Ford Cortina XR6. Fully Uk registered and Motd and ready to go. 2 Owner car from new. For those of you that dont know what an XR6 is they were factory built for the South African market with the 3.0 v6 essex engine, ronal wheels similar to our RS ones, rear louvre, five link rear axle set up, front and rear spoilers and upgraded front seats and interior. Car has only done 130000 kms which is about 75000 miles from new. It comes with its original handbooks and service book with a few stamps in it. Still has the original dealer sticker in the back window
Body - Extremely solid shell from front to back. Never been wleded from what we can see. Just passed its mot. Paintwork is nice with only a few very minor marks. Panel gaps are good. Looks like all original panels. No signs of any accident damage. One slight bubble on bottom of drivers side roof pillar.
Mechanics - Very quiet 3.0 Essex engine and original 4 speed box. Car drives very well and feels tight. All mechanics are standard xr6 which includes bigger brakes than uk cortinas. Im sure they use the granada ones on the front. 5 link rear axle helps handling immensely.
Interior - Again all standard xr6 with front seats that are very similar to scheel seats with similar cloth to an Escort Sport . Seats are good with no rips or tears. Carpets , dash, doorcards, headlining are all good.
This is a very rare car in very good order with low mileage and low owners, with only a handful in the UK. Its unlikely many more will reach these parts as prices are rising sharply in South Africa for these models.
