Ford Cortina MK2 Lotus, Genuine car first registered in Scotland in 1969. Car was blue when it left the factory but at some point was changed to the popular lotus white and green colour scheme. The car is a period survivor car which has had a few repairs over the years. Mechanically the car is excellent and drives spot on. It has a current Mot till Oct 2020. Areas of the body could do with a tidy up.
Body - Two door MK2 Series 2 shell. BA91 chassis number. The car had some work done to it 8 years ago and hasnt seen a lot of use since. It had new front wings, front panel at that point. Inner wings are good, floors are good and original looking. Evidence of minor repairs on inner sills in the past and boot wells. Doors boot and bonnet are good. rear arches are the main area where it will require some attention going forward as their is bubbling on the arches and the lower quarters. Overall a good old survivor car which can be used as it is but definitely a bit room for improvement on the body. Paintwork is perfectly presentable.
Mechanics - Engine starts first crack. No smoke or rattles. Cracking oil pressure. Runs very well. Gearbox clutch and brakes are good. Car drives really tight with no play in the steering . It has a current MOT and is not running under the MOT exemption scheme. Car is showing 21000 miles which we are assuming is 121000.
Interior - All correct guages and instruments. Rear seats are 1600E im told as the originals were done. Tidy enough inside. No rips or tears.
Wheels - 5 x Compomotive ML wheels with 185 70 13 Toyo tyres
This is a tidy old car which has survived well. Can be used as it is or taken to the next level. Minters are now 35k plus so theres enough room left for someone to do a bit work on it. Please feel free to come and see the car . we have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
