Ford Cortina 3.0 GT, Genuine South African factory built model. We have included a certificate from Ford in the pictures to confirm that it is a genuine 3.0 GT as this model was not available over here. Very solid original old car, apart from the wheels, but will need a light restoration and a few localised repairs underneath.



Body - Mk3 Cortina shell. Its never been patched or botched up. Looks like its all original panels and paint so a good starting point. Good inner wings, doors, boot bonnet, pillars, arches Will need a few minor repairs on front floors, spare wheel well, sills., lower rear quarters. Slight bump on osr corner. Paintwork is the original Maize yellow which is scruffy and will definitely need redone. Has the 3.0 bonnet which is more raised in the centre than the UK ones.Correct Gt badges and grille. Centre chassis rails are solid bbut quite well battered and bruised. Could be pulled out but id probably replace them if i was doing the car.



Mechanics - 3.0 factory V6 Essex engine. Starts runs and drives. Engine sounds ok but will obviously benefit from a good service. Carb may need adjusting due to the different climate. Clutch and brakes seem fine . Gearbox wants to jump out of reverse. Has new uprated springs on it which make it sit like a monster truck so these will need sorting



Interior - Has the correct dash and 4 centre guages. Seats have been retrimmed and are nice and tidy. Not sure if they are originals. Good door cards, dashtop headlining and carpet. I dont think all the SA cars had tombstones but i may be wrong.



Wheels - Non original 5 spoke thingys. Not particulary nice and defo not suite to this car



This is a very rare car which in the main is original and unmolested. Yes it will need a restoration but it has the basis to make a real nice example. Please feel free to come and see the car.
