1970 Ford Cortina 1600E recently taken as a trade in. This is a UK car which start runs and drives. Its good mechanically and is very useable. The paintwork in places needs attention. It was MOTd up until mid 24. We have the V5 here showing 8 previous owners and the speedo shows 46000 miles. The car has covered about 200 miles since 2016
Body 1600E shell. It has the tramp bars on the rear. Its solid enough underneath and was running with an MOT until July 24. Its had repairs in all the usual places over the years which are currently solid. The repairs are obvious that they have been done but not hideous, but not invisible either. Nothing needs doing underneath structurally that we can see. Strut tops have been plated in the past. you can clkearly see a repair panel has been let in.Paintwork along the drivers side is OK but the passenger side has had a bit of a DIY job on it. Top of drivers side wing doesnt line up the best. Vinyl roof is ok. Bumpers and trim are pretty straight. Not the worst looking old car, from a wee bit of a distance.
Mechanics - Engine starts no bother from cold with no nasty smoke or noises. Gearbox, clutch and brakes are fine. All gauges appear to work but rev counter takes a minute to spring into action. Looks like fairly recent front calipers and exhaust. Car actually drives pretty good for its advancing years. There is no play in the steering. Handbrake not working. Need to have a look to see if it needs adjusted or a cable.
Interior - Wood is pretty good, as are the door cards and seats. Dash has one crack on top. Good headlining.
Wheels- Painted rostyles with good 185/70/13 tyres
Good useable car which will give someone some pleasure. If you want a mint one its not this one. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
