1982 Ford Cortina MK5. This is a RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. We will apply for the UK registration for the new owner. This car starts runs and drives and is completely solid and structurally original from front to back. Its never been welded and if looked after will never need any.

Body - SA spec MK5 Cortina shell. Original, inner wings, sills, arches, pillars floors and so on. Very solid car underneath which needs no structural work whatsoever. Paintwork looks very original. Perfectly presentable but has a few minor marks here and there. Very minor bit of bubbling on passenger side front scuttle panel and bit of bubbling on both lower rear quarters at the bottom. Still solid but may need tidied up and repainted in the future. Overall though a very solid original car. SA spec chrome bumpers with metal chrome endcaps.

Mechanics - Car starts runs and drives. Engine sound fine and starts no problem. Gearbox clutch and brakes are OK. Bit of play in the steering which we need to investigate. If someone wants to pay the asking price we will happily put a years MOT on it. These African built MK5s have a factory fitted 5 link rear end with a panhard rod which makes them a good bit more stable than the UK ones. Carb may need a bit adjusting for the UK climate

Interior - Good door cards, headlining, carpet. Front seats are a bit worn but useable. Sunvisors need replaced as look to have been recovered badly.

Wheels - SA cars came with very different steels which are not the prettiest. We have fitted a set of UK spec wheels which were refurbed at some point. Chrome centre caps and chrome trim rings fitted.

Really solid old car which with a bit of minor tinkering will make a really nice honest example. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can inspect underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
