Ford Escort 1600 Sport. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Nova declaration has been done and we will help you with all the registration paperwork. Very solid tidy old car which needs a few  jobs doing to get it really nice. On April 1st this car wil be tax and mot exempt

 

Body - Export spec MK2 1600 sport shell with similar strengthening on the front to our RS models. Good solid original inner wings, sills, rear arches, pillar. Has only ever had a very minor repair on one side of the front floor and small repairs in rear wheel wells. Paint is nice and tidy and car is very straight along the sides with the doors fitting well. Bonnet pins have been added and its previously had an aerial on the top of the rear quarter. The hole is now filled with a gromet. Drivers wing mirror will need replaced.

 

Mechanics - 1600 crossflow, and 4 speed box. Car starts runs and drives. Engine sounds decent and has no smoke or rattles. Carburettor will require a bit fettling as it has a flat spot when cold. Brakes and clutch are good. All other suspension and brakes are standard SA 1600 sport. 

 

Interior - Original interior but front seats are quite well worn / stained. Back seat is good. Door cards are good with no speaker holes. Good headlining and dashtop. 

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish sport steels which have been refurbed with good tyres.
